TTO CHARITY CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2019
It’s that time of the year again!!!This year’s TTO Christmas Concert is on Tues 10th Dec at 7.30pm in the Drumossie Hotel and we’re incredibly excited to welcome Highland Voices Gospel Choir as our special guests for the evening!Entry by donation at the door – all proceeds to The Oxygen Works.
TTO PLAYDAY!
We had a fantastic day on Sat 26th Oct 2019 when we held the first-ever TTO Playday!! Over 40 musicians from as far afield as Caithness joined together with TTO players to enjoy playing a wide range of music from Schubert to La Bamba! A great time was had by all – we’ve had fantastic feedback and plan to make this an annual event. Here’s to Playday 2020!!!
WE’RE LOOKING FOR NEW “TERRIBLES”!
Here’s our conductor Julia, tuba player Edward and TTO Chairman Niall launching our recruitment drive for new members! After two years of playing with us, Edward is heading back to Canada and has generously gifted his tuba to the TTO. So any tuba players out there who have bags of enthusiasm, but no instrument, will be able to have loan of the tuba and join the ranks of the Terribles! We’re looking to expand all our sections and particularly need violins, violas, all brass, oboes, bassoons and percussion so if you would like to join us for some fab music making & lots of fun, contact us!
Charity Christmas Concert 2018!
We’re delighted to announce that, after giving our long-suffering audience a rest last year, the TTO Christmas Concert is back!! The orchestra is putting together a fabulous programme of light, classical and Christmas favourites. The concert will also include special guest singers, Ardersier Forte. This year’s event will take place on Tues 11th December at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness and will be in aid of Team Hamish. Huge thanks to our sponsors, Royal Bank of Scotland and VU Games. Tickets (£8 suggested donation) available from TTO members and from the Music Station, 49 Church St, Inverness – the hottest ticket in town!!
A Poem for the Terribles
As part of the My Time Project, by , Poet Stuart Sanderson came to spend an evening with The Truly Terrible Orchestra and then wrote a poem about his experience. To read Stuarts poem about the orchestra click here and head to pages 28-29. The project was looking at the importance of recreational activities. When interviewed by the Scotman newspaper he said: ‘I love the way the orchestra provides an unpretentious, welcoming space for enjoyment and participation across a broad range of proficiencies. ANOTHER TRULY TERRIBLE TRIUMPH!
The Truly Terrible Orchestra Evening of Christmas Sparkle & Festive Fun held on Tuesday 15th December 2015 at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness was a fabulous success! We had a great turn out and raised over £2380 for the Highland Hospice! Great work everyone (including our long-suffering audience who did a splendid job joining in the fun!)
